OUR PHILOSOPHY
(Value Driven)
Since I was a young man, one of my principal goals in any
relationship has been to add value for the other party to that
relationship, and that goal defines the way we practice law.
We emphasize timely and
cost efficient delivery of
quality legal services, with the goal of
adding value to our clients' businesses and real estate ventures in
relation to the cost of our services.
In pursuing this goal:
- We limit new client intake to matters where we have well
developed expertise.
- We monitor (and if necessary limit) new work intake to
assure that we remain accessible and responsive in addressing
client issues and completing projects.
- We work in a highly automated environment (voice mail,
e-mail, paperless files, and integrated practice management and
accounting software - all of which reduce our staffing needs and
overhead costs).

For our clients, this translates into reasonable hourly rates and
the absence of "gatekeepers."

We record detailed time entries for each element of work on
client matters. Prior to sending out a bill, each entry is
reviewed (and if necessary, adjusted) for reasonableness in
relation to the task accomplished.

Our bills set forth those detailed time entries so that our
clients see and understand what is involved in our work on their
behalf.
As a result of these practices:
- Since beginning the practice of law in 1986, I have never
had a malpractice claim or a bar complaint threatened (much less
lodged) against me.
- Our single largest source of year-over-year revenue is from
long-term clients.
- Our single largest source of new clients is referrals by
existing clients.
